COSTS AT A GLANCE

How much does moving to the Netherlands cost?

For the New York–Amsterdam example, a packed 5 m³ household shipment has a sea-transport planning budget of USD 1,500–2,800. The Boston–Utrecht example uses a 20-foot container at USD 3,500–7,000. Your final removal cost also depends on packing, both addresses, handling and delivery access. A home inventory and the included services are needed to turn these allowances into a written quote.

Read the route, currency and service scope together. An estimate is not a confirmed booking.

GATEWAYS AND DELIVERY

Cities, gateways and home delivery in the Netherlands

Narrow streets, canal-side homes and steep staircases can make a small delivery vehicle or furniture lift necessary. Send photos of the entrance and oversized items before booking. Confirm the receiving address and residence paperwork before the household shipment leaves.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Moving to the Netherlands: FAQs

What affects the price?

For the New York–Amsterdam example, a packed 5 m³ household shipment has a sea-transport planning budget of USD 1,500–2,800. The Boston–Utrecht example uses a 20-foot container at USD 3,500–7,000. Your final removal cost also depends on packing, both addresses, handling and delivery access. A home inventory and the included services are needed to turn these allowances into a written quote.

Which transport option should I choose?

Compare LCL shared-container sea transport with a sole-use 20-foot or 40-foot container for the same packed inventory. The best fit depends on volume, handling and delivery access, not just the number of rooms. A shared road-and-ferry service is a different option and must not be labelled LCL. Ask for the included packing and both local legs to be listed before comparing prices.

How long does transport take?

For Netherlands, the main transport time must be distinguished from collection, consolidation, clearance and delivery. The examples allow 3–12 weeks for sea-stage planning, not a guaranteed door-to-door schedule. We will confirm the itinerary and expected handover window with the proposal. Do not schedule a final delivery solely from a vessel or flight arrival estimate.

Can I arrange collection and delivery?

Yes, request the legs you need and provide complete addresses. For Amsterdam, tell us whether handover is at a terminal, depot or private address. Access and unloading requirements affect the scope. The quote will say which legs are included.

What documents and preparation are needed?

Narrow streets, canal-side homes and steep staircases can make a small delivery vehicle or furniture lift necessary. Send photos of the entrance and oversized items before booking. Confirm the receiving address and residence paperwork before the household shipment leaves.

What is excluded from the example prices?

These are indicative sea-transport budgets for already packed household goods between the named city areas, with the gateway selected during quoting. They are not complete door-to-door removal prices. Packing, collection, inland delivery, customs intervention, taxes, insurance and storage need separate confirmation. Terminal costs, taxes, insurance and local transport must be checked separately against the written quote.

Can I ship in the opposite direction?

Yes, you can request either direction. The receiving country, contents and handover requirements determine the documentation and available service. An outward price does not automatically apply to the return journey. Swap the origin and destination in the form for a separate assessment.

Does my request confirm a booking?

No. Your request lets us check cargo, routing and services. We will respond within 24 hours, but a booking requires an accepted proposal and confirmed availability. Do not deliver cargo to a terminal until the handover instructions are confirmed.
